Researcher Ricardo Ribeiro Gudwin, professor of the Department of Computation Engineering and Industrial Automation at UNICAMP´s Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering and member of BRAINN, has been granted an important international award in recognition for his work uncovering the Science behind cognitive disorders.

Gudwin participated this month in the Annual International Conference on Biologically Inspired Cognitive Architectures (BICA 2017), which took place in Moscow, Russia, from August 1st to 5th. At the event, the researcher presented the most recent results of his research on cognitive architectures (The Multipurpose Enhanced Cognitive Architecture [MECA]). In addition, Gudwin was one of the speakers at a second event, correlated and concomitant to BICA, named FIERCES 2017 (First International Early Career Enhancement School on Biologically Inspired Cognitive Architectures). In this, the scientist taught those present how to use the CST – Cognitive Systems Toolkit – via a hands-on methodology, a remarkable achievement created within BRAINN.

For these innovative and state-of-the-art researches, Gudwin received the BICA Society Outstanding Research Award, a prize offered by the organizers of the meeting to the scientists who presented the most impactful work of the events.

RICD BRAINN congratulates Dr. Gudwin for this incredible merit!
