RIDICs are “Research, Innovation and Diffusion Centers” supported by FAPESP for a period of up to 11 years. Their mission is to develop fundamental or applied research with relevant business and/or social impact, contributing to innovation through technology transfer and providing outreach activities for teachers and students of primary and secondary education and to the general public.
Currently, FAPESP finances 17 RIDICs covering various topics in different scientific areas, from research on human health to the study of the impact of public policies in large Brazilian cities.
