SUMMARY:INES 2023 - 12th International Summer School for Neuropathology and Neuroimaging in Epilepsy
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description\nThe international classification of epilepsies recognizes a large spectrum of substrates as potential predictors of disease progression and treatment response. Reliable neuropathological and neuroimaging work-up of epilepsy-associated brain lesions represents thus an important diagnostic value for the successful management of patients with focal epilepsy. \n  \n Access the program for the event\n  \nThe 12th International Summer School for Neuropathology and Neuroimaging in Epilepsy will specifically address the issue to enable participants to better recognize and classify various brain lesions. We will offer an integrated approach to combine neuropathology and neuroimaging skills and knowledge. The workshop has been held previously in Germany\, Brazil\, USA and China with a focus on histopathology and the endorsement of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE). \n  \n \n  \nAdvanced hands-on histopathology training will still be offered in small groups led by distinguished tutors but also includes hands-on skills on reformatting brain MR images. We will offer all participants use cases to further develop their skills and help integrating knowledge of histology and imaging related to the diagnosis and treatment of human focal epilepsies. \n  \n Registration\nPlease register in advance as room will be limited. No on-site registration available. \nTo be considered\, applications must be received by April 15\, 2023. We urge that you apply as soon as possible to reserve your spot and avoid disappointment.  \nApplications should include a brief description of your current clinical practice and experience in the field of neuropathology and/or epileptology and neuroimaging\, together with a short\nCV (in English or Portuguese). \nPlease indicate your preferred assignment to group work for (A) Neuropathology or (B) Neuroimaging.  \nPlease send your application by email to: fabiorogerio2@gmail.com\n \nSuccessful participants will be informed no later than 20 workings days from the application deadline\, and will receive all further instructions regarding payment and full registration.\n \nRegistration fee: US$ 350.00 (non-Brazilians)* or R$ 1.800\,00 (Brazilians)*.\n* This fee covers lunch and beverages from WED-SAT\, a welcome reception and social dinner. Registration fees exclude accommodation\, airfares and other travel to Campinas. Travel\nbursaries from ILAE or ISN are available to participants from low- or middle-income countries.
