The main goal is to foster stronger communication and collaborations, in order to reach high quality research standards.<\/p>\n<p>The Congress is an initiative of project BRAINN (Brazilian Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology), which is a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (RIDC) of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fapesp.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.fapesp.br\" data-type=\"external\">S\u00e3o Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP)<\/a>. BRAINN congregates researchers from several areas (neurology, physics, biology, electrical engineering, psychology, computer science, physical education, among others), coming mainly from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unicamp.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.unicamp.br\" data-type=\"external\">University of Campinas (UNICAMP)<\/a> and from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cti.gov.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.cti.gov.br\" data-type=\"external\">Center of Information Technology Renato Archer (CTI)<\/a>, which is a federal center of research and development; but also from other Brazilian institutions, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ufabc.edu.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.ufabc.edu.br\/\" data-type=\"external\">Federal University of ABC<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unifesp.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.unifesp.br\/\" data-type=\"external\">Federal University of S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pucrs.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.pucrs.br\/\" data-type=\"external\">Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul<\/a>; as well as some foreign institutions, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umontreal.ca\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.umontreal.ca\/english\/\" data-type=\"external\">University of Montreal<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-content=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/\" data-type=\"external\">University College London<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As the name implies, project BRAINN focuses on basic science research on neuroscience, coupled with the development of technologies that can assist in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of neurological diseases, mainly but not restricted to, epilepsy and stroke.<\/p>\n<p>The 6th BRAINN Congress is open to attendants from any research groups that have an interest in exchanging information and experiences with BRAINN participants.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-congress courses will be announced shortly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/brainncongress.wixsite.com\/2019\" class=\"su-button su-button-style-3d\" style=\"color:#ffffff;background-color:#8304e4;border-color:#6904b7;border-radius:8px\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color:#ffffff;padding:7px 22px;font-size:17px;line-height:26px;border-color:#a950ed;border-radius:8px;text-shadow:none\"><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-o-right\" style=\"font-size:17px;color:#ffffff\"><\/i> Official website<\/span><\/a>\n<p>&nbsp;","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; The 6th BRAINN Congress will be held in Campinas, SP, Brazil, from April 1st to 3rd, 2019, with pre-congress courses from March 29th to 31st, 2019.
